Johnstown Tomahawks, local high schoolers help install new tiles at Roxbury Park hockey rink

Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Friday’s rainy weather didn't stop work being done at Roxbury Park's outdoor hockey rink in Cambria County. The Johnstown public works department teamed up with volunteers, including members of the Johnstown Tomahawks and Greater Johnstown high school hockey team, to install tiles at the rink. Jury acquits man accused of police officer's slaying

GREENSBURG -- A jury has returned a not guilty verdict in the trial of a man accused of gunning down a St. Clair Township police officer who responded to a domestic violence call. KDKA-TV reports the jury Friday night found Ray Shetler Jr. not guilty of first- and third-degree murder charges. He's been found guilty on charges of theft and receiving stolen property. Indiana County mother admits to 'smothering' 9-month-old child, staging scene

Indiana County, PA (WJAC) — Police in Indiana County say a local mother is behind bars following an investigation into the death of her 9-month-old infant son. Authorities say on January 6, officers were dispatched to a residence in Indiana Borough for reports on an unresponsive infant child. Police say the child reportedly did not have a pulse and was not breathing. According to the affidavit, police say the infant regained a pulse at the hospital and was later transferred to UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Mifflin Co. man accused of repeatedly sexually abusing two young girls at private daycare

Mifflin County, PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Mifflin County say a Reedsville man is behind bars following an investigation into accusations that he repeatedly sexually abused two young girls. Police say Michael Mowery, 61, faces dozens of charges after two girls came forward earlier this year to report that they had each been molested by him at his home, which operated as a private daycare. According to the affidavit, police say Mowery allegedly abused one of the victims from the time she was 5-years-old until age 11.

Police investigating double homicide in Williamsport

WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING CO. (WOLF) — Police are investigating a double homicide in Williamsport. The Williamsport police department announced Friday that they are investigating a double homicide that occurred in the 1700 block of Terrace Place in the city. Officers received a report of shots fired in the area, and located a vehicle containing an adult male and adult female who were fatally shot. The victims were identified as Alisha Seese, 37, and Ronald Dailey, 37.
