Woman reached speeds of 90 mph during chase that began in East Conemaugh

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Cambria County say a Summerhill woman is behind bars after leading police on a high-speed chase Wednesday evening. Police say the incident began around 7:15 p.m. when an officer with the East Conemaugh Borough police department approached a vehicle at the Water Works Car Wash. Authorities say the driver, later identified as 29-year-old Billie Jo Moyer, was reportedly showing evidence of drug use while parked inside the vehicle and the officer believed that she was overdosing.

These changes come as part of attempts to “support the evolution of a freer, more open society in Cuba,” according to the announcement.

Officials announce plan to 'modernize' Johnstown postal service processing center

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — The future of mail operations at Johnstown’s USPS processing center is a little clearer after officials announced a plan to modernize operations. Officials say there will be no career layoffs at the facility, however they do leave open the possibility some of those jobs could be reassigned to other locations. They say the facility will remain open as they invest $3.7 million into the facility to streamline processing and distribution.

Shirleysburg man sentenced to prison time in Huntingdon Co. arson case, DA confirms

Huntingdon Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Huntingdon County District Attorney's Office confirmed that a Shirleysburg man has been sentenced to prison time for setting fire to a residence last April. Officials say Jonathan Copenhaver will serve 3 to 6 years at SCI Huntingdon after he pleaded guilty to one count of felony arson in October. Troopers arrested Copenhaver in early April after he intentionally set fire to a trailer located along Extract Road.

Bellefonte woman sentenced to nearly 2 years in jail for giving kids meth, bleach baths

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Centre County say a Bellefonte woman was sentenced to nearly two years in county jail Monday after being accused of providing drugs to children and bathing them in bleach. Officials say Tara Auman was sentenced to serve 11-and-a-half to 23-and-a-half months in jail, followed by five years of probation in the child endangerment case. Centre County authorities clarified that the sentence was also concurrent with the consolidation of various other cases against her.
