Shoppers finding alternative ways to get eggs after price nearly triples in past year

Johnstown, PA — The price of eggs has nearly tripled over the last year which is causing some shoppers to abandon the grocery store as they look for alternate avenues to get eggs. Channel 6 went to Ken’s BiLo in Northern Cambria County Monday where the manager says many customers are now getting their eggs directly from farmers, but they're doing everything they can to get the prices as low as possible.

Wine sales at State College Wegmans get positive response

STATE COLLEGE - According to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, the number of wineries in Pennsylvania has doubled since 2000, with total production increasing by 220 percent. The State College Wegmans has now started selling wine from around the world, as well as local wineries. The grocery store has been selling beer for quite some time, but store manager Adam Fleming said wine is something customers have expressed interest in for a while.

Pennsylvania hunters may soon be prohibited from using dogs to hunt furbearer species during regular deer and bear firearm seasons. This was recently announced by the Pennsylvania Game Commission. Worker, customers saddened by sudden closing of Ryan's restaurant in Richland Township

Altoona Salvation Army making changes to operations to mitigate spread of COVID-19

ALTOONA, Pa (WJAC) — Officials with the Salvation Army in Altoona say they are trying to cut down on the number of people in the building and are limiting access. Capt. Larry Fulmer says the food pantry will be open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Fulmer says anyone needing food in Blair County should call the office ahead of time and set up an appointment. Fulmer adds that he is expecting an even greater need than normal.
