Dozens of local schools were delayed Wednesday because of below zero wind chill temperatures.
“We have to use common sense. We can't delay school every day because of wind chill,” Richland School District superintendent Arnold Nadonley said. “However, the first few times we do it to get the parents on notice that, ‘hey it's time to make sure your kids are appropriately dressed and taken care of.’”
Among the schools Richland and Central Cambria school districts each operated on a two-hour delay.

A bipartisan group of senators that includes Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer released their 31-page roadmap on Wednesday, proposing an annual $32 billion investment from Congress and laying out varying amounts of details on how to deal with some of the issues lawmakers are facing when it comes to AI regulation.

Johnstown man threatened juveniles with gun at local McDonald's
JOHNSTOWN, Pa (WJAC) — West Hills police say a Johnstown man is behind bars after he threatened two juveniles with a gun at a local McDonald's, according to a criminal complaint.
Police say 19-year-old Jonathan Bragg faces charges of aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment, according to online court documents.
Authorities say on Oct. 17, two juveniles reported that they had been harassed and threatened by Bragg, who was known to them, at the McDonald's in Lower Yoder Township.
Two killed in Friday's head-on crash in Altoona
UPDATE:BLAIR CO, Pa (WJAC) — According to a release from the Logan Township police department, both drivers involved in Friday afternoon's crash in Altoona have died from their injuries.
Police say the driver of a 2015 Subaru, identified as 79-year-old Jerry Sneath, crossed the center turn lane, along the 1600 block of East Pleasant Valley Blvd., and struck the second vehicle head-on.
The driver of the second vehicle has been identified as 78-year-old Thomas Gill.
Defiance man convicted of aggravated assault in 2021 bar stabbing, AG says
BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Prosecutors say a Defiance man has been found guilty of aggravated assault for his role in a 2021 stabbing outside a Bedford County bar.
Brian Taylor was arrested in November of 2021 following an investigation into an altercation outside Rookeez Bar & Grille in Coaldale Borough.

Employee accused of smuggling drugs into SCI Houtzdale appears in court
CLEARFIELD, Pa. — A state prison employee accused of bringing drugs into a Clearfield County facility appeared in court Wednesday.
Rick Davis Jr., 36, of Philipsburg, was charged Saturday with felony manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, felony intentional possession of controlled substance, felony possession of controlled substance contraband/inmate and misdemeanor use/possession of drug paraphernalia.
Davis waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday and had all charges bound over for trial.
Faith Church hosts annual Bellefonte free community Christmas dinner
BELLEFONTE – People in Bellefonte volunteered to help others, providing meals and fellowship to people who needed it.
For the 21st year, Faith Church hosted its Bellefonte free community Christmas dinner --, better known as a celebration or sharing and community.
“Hello,. Merry Christmas,” event organizer Kelly Smith said as guests began to enter the room.
The dinner took place in Fellowship Hall of Faith Church, and over 700 meals were served.
