Pens trade veteran defenseman Chad Ruhwedel to New York
PITTSBURGH (WJAC) — The Pittsburgh Penguins have traded veteran defenseman Chad Ruhwedel to the New York Rangers for a fourth round pick in 2027.
The 33-year-old signed with Pittsburgh following their Stanley Cup championship run in 2016.
In 7+ seasons with the Penguins, Ruhwedel played in over 300 total games, recording 11 goals and 47 total points.
Ruhwedel spent four seasons with the Buffalo Sabres prior to his time in Pittsburgh.

And now, Ashley Madison has just released some data, announcing the top 20 American cities for adulterous behavior and sign ups.
Renters must earn around $80,000 to comfortably afford average rent in America
UNDATED (WKRC) - According to Zillow, renters must earn around $80,000 to comfortably afford the typical rent in the United States. Zillow reported that since 2019, rent in America has grown 1.5 times faster than wages. According to data provided by Zillow, the typical rent was $1,505 in November of 2019. That number increased to $1,997 in April 2024.
To comfortably afford rent today, meaning to spend no more than 30% of their income, renters would need to make $79,889.

State withdraws charges in overdose death of Clearfield Co. woman
Clearfield, PA — According to court documents, last year 27-year-old Donna Smith died from a drug overdose in a home on Carson Avenue in DuBois.
Authorities said Patrick O'Brien was charged in her death facing multiple charges including drug possession with intent to deliver and delivery resulting in death.
But after the discovery of new evidence, authorities said those charges are off of the table.
"There was a phone dump as we call it of the decedent's phone and in that phone there was messages that indicated where the drugs came from and how they were acquired and those were not from Mr.
Suspect arrested nearly 3 years after Johnstown credit union robbery
Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Johnstown police say a local man is behind bars, nearly three years after he allegedly robbed a credit union in the city.
Police say Derrick Smith, 33, was taken into custody last week on charges related to the robbery of the Franklin Johnstown Federal Credit Union in February of 2020.
Authorities say Smith allegedly robbed the credit union, located along Vine Street, and made off with over $1,100 in unmarked bills.
Akeel Lynch transferring; Former TE Breneman hired as campaign manager
STATE COLLEGE---Penn State running back Akeel Lynch announced Wednesday he will transfer for his final season of eligibility.
Lynch was the starting running back to begin the season, but lost playing time due to injuries and the emergence of true freshman Saquon Barkley. In a letter posted on his Twitter account Wednesday Lynch thanked his Penn State coaches, Joe Paterno, Bill O'Brien and James Franklin.
Lynch was considered a mentor to the younger running backs this past season.
Indiana University of Pennsylvania unveils $90 million John J. and Char Kopchik Hall
Over 400 people showed up to celebrate the grand opening of the John J. and Char Kopchik Hall at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania during a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday.
The building has been in construction since 2020 and cost $90 million. It has over 140 thousand square feet and will serve as the university’s science and mathematics hub. The building is named in honor of IUP graduates Dr. John and Char Kopchik who made a $23 million dollar donation to IUP in April of 2018.
