FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) — A political sign with profanity can be seen in a window from outside Fresno City Hall in California. Someone reached out to KMPH to say they found the sign offensive because in Spanish it says F#@$ Trump. The anti-trump political sign with Spanish profanity can be seen in Fresno Councilmember Miguel Arias' office window. KMPH News reached out to Arias for an interview or comment. India train crash kills over 280, injures 900 in one of nation's worst rail disasters

BALASORE, India (AP) — Rescuers found no more survivors in the overturned and mangled wreckage of two passenger trains that derailed in eastern India, killing more than 280 people and injuring hundreds in one of the country's deadliest rail crashes in decades, officials said Saturday. Chaotic scenes erupted on Friday night as rescuers climbed atop the wrecked trains to break open doors and windows using cutting torches. The death toll rose steadily throughout the night.

Johnstown Galleria to host another drive-up food distribution on Wednesday

Special Olympics Summer games cancelled because of air quality concerns

State College, PA (WJAC) — The Pennsylvania Special Olympics summer games, which were set to start Thursday in Centre County, were canceled just as teams from across the state began to arrive. Organizers of the event said the poor air quality forced them to stop all activities for the weekend. The health and safety of all event participants is our highest priority, and this decision was not made lightly as we know how much time and effort was invested in preparing for this event.

State College woman involved in 2016 overdose death arrested for meth possession

STATE COLLEGE, Pa (WJAC) — A State College woman involved in the 2016 overdose death of a Centre County woman is facing new drug charges after being arrested for possession of methamphetamine earlier this month, according to a criminal complaint. Sabine Graham, 27, was arrested on March 14 at the Exxon/Dunkin Donuts service station in State College after Rockview state police were notified that she was to be in possession of crystal methamphetamine, the complaint states.

WASHINGTON (WJAC) — Former Pennsylvania Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine was officially sworn into the U.S. Public Health Services Commissioned Corps Tuesday. This makes her the first openly transgender four-star officer in the Uniformed Services and the first female four-star admiral. Levine was nominated and confirmed as the Assistant Health Secretary for the U.S. Department of Health and Human services March of this year. She says she is deeply honored and grateful to join the ranks of men and women who serve our nation.

DuBois Area School District essential staff receives COVID-19 vaccine

DuBois, PA — In a partnership with DuBois Drug and Wellness, essential employees in the DuBois Area school district received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. "Initially prior to the change in Phase1a eligibility we sent out a survey and really we're trying to gather data on who is interested," said Wendy Benton, Superintendent of the DuBois Area School District. Once the state changed the Phase 1A criteria, Wendy Benton said they sent out another survey to confirm their eligibility.

Johnstown approves $75k naming rights contract for Point Stadium

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — As part of a new five-year contract between the city and Sargent's Group, the Point Stadium will soon have a new alliterative name: "Sargent's Stadium at the Point." City Council has been looking for a company to buy naming rights for the stadium since at least last year, when it began seeking proposals from local companies. This one will see Sargent's paying $15,000 a year for five years for the rights.

Shots fired inside Lehigh Valley Mall, no injuries reported

WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. (AP) — Police say shots were fired inside Lehigh Valley Mall but no victims have been found. Whitehall Township Police responded to the Saturday afternoon shooting shortly before 5 p.m. Hours later, authorities said they were still searching the mall. Whitehall Township Police Chief Michael Marks say no arrest have been made. An Allentown man said he heard four of five gunshots before people started to race toward the exits.
