PennDOT has announced temporary speed limit restrictions on I-80 due to the severity of the storm.
Officials said PennDOT is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel but those who must head out will see speeds reduced to 45 mph on the following highways: Interstate 80 between exit 97/DuBois-Brockway to exit 147/Snow ShoeInterstate 99 between the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Interstate 80Route 22 from State College to the Perry County line.

'We shouldn't have government involved'
WASHINGTON (TND) — Independent presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. said Friday he opposes government abortion limits and would want to allow an abortion “even if it’s full term.”
The comment represents the latest political maneuver on abortion by a presidential candidate. Former President Donald Trump issued a statement in April defining his stance on the issue and decrying those who enforce full term abortions.

Animal breeder Envigo to pay record $35M fine in welfare case involving 4K beagles
Research animal breeder Envigo pleaded guilty to animal welfare and environmental crimes on Monday following a two-year investigation into its mistreatment of at least 4,000 beagles, prosecutors with the U.S. Justice Department announced. In a news release, the U.S. Justice Department saidEnvigo is facing more than $35 million in penalties, including a $22 million fine, for conspiring to knowingly violate the Animal Welfare Act and the Clean Water Act.

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - Conemaugh Health System has named its next CEO.
William Caldwell will be taking over the reigns after Steve Tucker announced his retirement in June after 33 years. His retirement goes into effect Sept. 7.
“Bill is an experienced health care executive known for his passion for quality care, strong operational skills, and unwavering commitment to employees, physicians and patients," said Victor Giovanetti, LifePoint Health Eastern Group president. Caldwell has been CEO of Wilson Medical Center, a Duke LifePoint health care facility, in North Carolina since 2014.

SkiPA Resorts unveil discounted beginner packages all month-long
WHITE HAVEN, Pa. (WHP) - Governor Tom Wolf has officially declared January 2020 Learn to Ski & Snowboard Month in Pennsylvania with the Senate also making a proclamation. For the entire month, members of the Pennsylvania Ski Areas Association (SkiPA) are offering special discounts on learn to ski packages, which makes it affordable and convenient for first-timers to get started and hit the slopes.
The Pennsylvania ski resorts are dedicated to providing diverse winter recreational opportunities to help families spend quality time outdoors together, said Linda Irvin executive director of the Pennsylvania Ski Areas Association.
Women's Help Center begins community garden
Plants went into the ground in Johnstown Wednesday at the Women's Help Center.
Residents helped fill raised garden beds with different types of fruits, vegetables and herbs.
The Women's Help Center recently fixed up the garden and planter beds after receiving a grant.
Women's Help Center's executive director Roxann Tyger said that the garden will have more positive outcomes than just providing residents with food.
Tyger said, "I think gardening is therapy in a way, too.
'Distressed' aircraft makes emergency 'belly landing' at Johnstown Airport
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Officials say a “distressed” aircraft had to make an emergency landing Monday afternoon at the Johnstown airport.
First responders were put on standby after officials said the pilot notified air traffic control of a landing gear issue.
Authorities say the rear landing gear would not lock into place.
Local first responders were called to the airport as the plane circled above to burn fuel before coming in for what's called a “belly landing.
