Woodward Camp announces closure of gymnastics, cheerleading programs
Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — Woodward Camps announced Thursday that it has made the "difficult decision" to "discontinue" its gymnastics and cheerleading programs at all of its camp locations.
The camp has offered gymnastics training for much of its 52-year history.
"We are grateful to have had the opportunity to work with many of the best athletes, coaches and ambassadors in the world of gymnastics and cheer and to have served as a vehicle of growth and empowerment for individuals in both sports.
Local high schooler Jax Forrest wins opening round of USA Olympic Wrestling Trials
CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — The Bryce Jordan Center is hosting the United States Olympic wrestling trials this weekend.
Men and women in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling are competing for the chance to represent the USA in Paris this summer.
Seventeen former and current Penn State wrestlers will compete this weekend.
The trials started at 10 a.m. on Friday and several Nittany Lions have already advanced to the second round.

One person injured in commercial vehicle accident in Somerset County
SOMERSET CO., Pa. (WJAC) — According to Somerset County Dispatch, multiple emergency crews were called to a commercial vehicle accident Wednesday morning at the intersection of Jackson Street and Mason Dixon Highway.
Dispatch said the call came in just before 8. As of 8:30 am, part of Mason Dixon Highway is closed from Owl Hollow Road to Pine Hill Road.
Dispatch told 6 News one person was transported.

Sandy Twp. asks judge to pause consolidation with DuBois over city manager's allegations
Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — Officials in Sandy Township have asked a judge to put a hold on the municipality's consolidation plans with the city of DuBois until the investigation into suspended city manager John "Herm" Suplizio has been completed.
According to a complaint filed on June 1st, the township is seeking a pause on the merger due to ongoing concerns over the city's financial situation.
"It was discovered that the City's financial information upon which the recommendation for consolidation, the consolidation plan and the consolidation agreement were based was inaccurate and incomplete,"
