Bushy Run Battlefield hosting reenactments for 260th anniversary of the 2-day battle
Westmoreland County, PA — Central Pennsylvania has factored prominently in several wars that were fought on American soil.
Situated between the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War was a small, two-day battle located near present day Harrison City in Westmoreland County.
The site of that fight is known as the Bushy Run Battlefield.
Bushy Run Battlefield will be hosting large scale reenactments on August 5th and 6th, which is the 260th anniversary of the battle.
Congress passes $105 billion bill boosting aviation safety, passenger rights
WASHINGTON (AP) — Congress gave final approval Wednesday to a$105 billion bill designed to increase the number of air traffic controllers, add more safety inspectors at aircraft factories and require airlines to automatically pay refunds to travelers whose flights are canceled or significantly delayed.
The House passed the measure to reauthorizeFederal Aviation Administration programs by a 387-26 margin and sent it to President Joe Biden. The Senate passed the measure last week.

Mifflin Co. man charged in disappearance of DC photographer extradited to MD, police confirm
Mifflin County, PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Mifflin County Regional Police Department confirmed that the Reedsville man charged with murder in connection to the disappearance of a prominent D.C. photographer is being extradited.
Police say Brandon Holbrook was picked up Thursday afternoon and is in the process of being extradited to Calvert County, Maryland.
Holbrook was arrested earlier this month following an investigation into the disappearance of 51-year-old Joseph Anthony Shymanski.
Reporter's mic shoved away when asking Florida mayor about homelessness crisis
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WPEC) — A news reporter that tried asking a Florida mayor about the homeless problem had his microphone shoved away and told to "back off." The reporter, who works for WPEC, questioned Mayor Keith James about the growing homeless problem in downtown West Palm Beach.
Shoppers, merchants and people who work in the area have told WPEC over and over the situation is out of control. Homeless panhandlers constantly badger people for money, snatch food off plates on sidewalk tables, hover over customers at ATMs and otherwise disrupt day to day life downtown.
'I need help:' 911 audio played during hearing for Patton man accused of shooting wife
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A Cambria County man accused of fatally shooting his wife with a shotgun, after she reportedly threatened to leave him, appeared in court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.
Police say William Simmons, of Patton, is facing murder and aggravated assault charges in the death of 66-year-old Rebecca Simmons.
Investigators say on February 22nd, police were dispatched to a residence along Grozanick Road, in Chest Township, after Rebecca Simmons reportedly called 911 to report that she had been shot by her husband.

Florida AG looks to take 'gas station heroin' off shelves
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WPEC) — Pegasus, Tianaa and Zaza Red are all brand names referring to the dietary supplement known as tianeptine or as it’s more commonlycalled “gas station heroin.”
It’s a fitting nickname, as experts say the highly addictive pills, in many ways, mirror the effects of heroin.
“They get the same warm feeling, the fuzzy, the high, the grogginess, the numbness and pain relief, the euphoria associated with that, and like heroin, you have to start taking more and more,” said Luis Garcia, a retired Boynton Beach firefighter and founder of USA Opioid Crisis Mortality Reduction.
Scene cleared after bomb threat reported at Hershey's Chocolate World
DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Authorities have evacuated Chocolate World after staff reported concerns to 911 about a bomb threat.
According to Dauphin County officials, the situation was reported at 3:25 p.m.
Staff states that the building has been evacuated as a precaution.
Derry Township Police Department are currently leading the investigation with the help of Dauphin County Sheriff's bomb-sniffing dogs.
