JWF Industries prepares for Gov. Mike Pence's arrival
JOHNSTOWN - Republican vice presidential nominee, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, is scheduled to host an outdoor rally at JWF Industries on Thursday.
The metal manufacturing company's safety director and owner's son, Alex Polacek, worked with staff Wednesday to prepare for Pence's arrival.
Polacek said the event was a bit last-minute, just finding out on Monday that Pence was coming to Johnstown.
He said despite having little time to prepare, the staff cleaned and followed safety directions from the Secret Service.
Pittsburgh to host 2026 NFL Draft, league announces

DuBois, PA — Soul Platter Cafe opened its doors a little over two years ago in DuBois.
Their promise being, everyone should be able to have a meal regardless of their circumstance.
"We have a suggested selling price for our food and if you can pay that great if you can't then you can pay whatever you want if you can't that's fine," said Todd Seligman, Chef for Soul Platter Cafe.
Huntingdon man killed in weekend rollover crash in Juniata Township
Huntingdon Co., PA (WJAC) — State police say a Huntingdon man was killed early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Juniata Township.
Troopers say Reed Peck, 21, was reportedly traveling north on Point Road when his vehicle left the roadway and struck an embankment.
Police say the vehicle then reportedly overturned and struck a tree.
Troopers noted that Peck was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and he was pronounced dead at the scene,

Teen killed in Route 96 crash in Schellsburg
UPDATE:BEDFORD CO, Pa (WJAC) — State police say a 17-year-old male was killed in Friday night's crash along Route 96 in Schellsburg.
According to a crash report, the teen was traveling northbound, just before 10:30 p.m., when he swerved to miss debris on the roadway, lost control, and was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound.
Troopers say the teen was pronounced dead at the scene and that the driver of the other vehicle was transported to Conemaugh Hospital with minor injuries.
Toddler killed after being run over by rideshare driver
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (WOAI/KABB) — A toddler is dead after being hit by a rideshare driver on Houston's Far North Side. The deadly accident happened just before 1 p.m. Sunday outside a home off Waverly Drive near Beltway 8 and Hardy Toll Road. Huntingdon Co. toddler dies after drowning
HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Officials say a Huntingdon County toddler is dead following an accidental drowning Friday night.
According to the Fulton County coroner's office, the 3-year-old boy was pronounced dead on Friday, just before midnight.
Multiple crews were called for a search detail Friday evening related to the incident.
Officials with the Three Springs Volunteer Fire Company thanked those who assisted with the search.
No further details about the boy's identity or the search have been released at this time.
