Despite leading the league in almost every statistical category for his position, Steelers star pass rusher TJ Watt did not receive the league's AP Defensive Player of the Year award during Thursday night's NFL Honors.

Instead, the award went to Cleveland's star pass rusher Myles Garrett.

The Associated Press says Garrett received 23 first-place votes and 165 points to Watt's 19 first-place votes and 140 points.

Watt led the NFL this season with 19 total sacks, which earned him the league's Deacon Jones Award.

The AP says that Garrett had the "better all-around season for the NFL's top-ranked defense."
