Two Pittsburgh area residents were arrested Monday in Blair County after allegedly being busted with more than $9,000 worth of drugs.

Logan Township police charged James Watts Jr., 18, Glassport, and a juvenile after stopping the two while leaving an East 6th Avenue apartment in Altoona.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, Watts led police on a foot chase before being arrested.

Police found $472, seven grams of crack, five grams of cocaine, five grams of heroin, more than 40 Xanax pills and approximately 264 bags of heroin on Watts, according to the affidavit.

The juvenile had $365, four grams of cocaine, three grams of marijuana and approximately 272 bags of heroin, according to the affidavit.

Two digital scales with drug residue were also allegedly found at the East 6th Street residence.

The drugs have a street value of about $9,270, according to police.

Watts has been charged with several offenses, including multiple felony counts of drug possession.

He was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Daniel C. DeAntonio, of Altoona, and was sent to the Blair County Prison in lieu of a $50,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Aug. 9 before DeAntonio.

An online court docket did not list an attorney for Watts Monday afternoon.

The juvenile was released to a family member, pending charges through the juvenile court system, according to the affidavit.
